The opening lines establish the emotional landscape: "الان چند ساله از روز ـه آخری که دیدمت میگذره" (It's been several years since the last day I saw you). The narrator confesses that they believed the memory of their beloved would fade "مث عطر تنت ، از روی تنم میپره" (like the scent of your body, it would leave my body) — but it hasn't.
